North to south, from 29th to 41st, and east to west from Boundary to Nanaimo, this is a community rich in  character and growth, which isn’t surprising, because it’s one of the earliest in East Vancouver.

Like many family-oriented neighbourhoods, Collingwood was once dominated by traditional single-family homes. However, easy access to schools, shops, and restaurants and other conveniences triggered a demand, which resulted in the construction of more shared housing projects. Today, Collingwood retains its family first vibe. This is a community where people of English, Chinese, Filipino, and Vietnamese descent all harmoniously blend together, creating a beautiful microcosm of Canada’s unique cultural mosaic. This is  a neighborhood full of hidden gems. For example, the Collingwood Neighborhood House has long been a venue for music, dance, arts, gardening and all sorts of cultural activities. Burnaby’s Central Park and Killarney Park feature a pitch-n-putt and an indoor ice rink, respectively. In addition, the proximity to the Metrotown area means easy access to a whole spectrum of cuisines, from delicious curry to succulent sashimi. Best of all, as a transportation hub, the downtown core is easily accessible by both Skytrain and bus. Families focused on schooling couldn’t do better than Collingwood, which offers no less than five elementary schools. Additionally, both Killarney Secondary School and the Burnaby branch of BCIT are just a short drive away.
